Quilt kits

Quilt kitsIf you’re a quilter with very little time, quilt kits may be very helpful for you. Even before fabric is cut out to make a quilt, there is a lot of time consuming work that has to take place. This include the following:

• Choosing a pattern and scaling it to the size of quilt you desire.
• Selecting fabric for your quilt – usually several different coordinating fabrics.
• Measuring until you have the right amount of each fabric that your quilt pattern requires.

Then comes the cutting, which must be precise and is usually very time consuming. All of these steps are crucial to the overall design and success in making a quilt. If you have limited time to devote to quilting, quilt kits come in very handy. You will find these kits online or in retail quilt shops.

A quilt kit comes with the pattern and fabric that you need to create a quilt. You choose the kit from an assortment of kits. Most quilt kits show a picture of the finished product on the front so that you can choose the pattern, colors and design that you like most. Often quilt kits still require you to cut the fabric or to provide your own backing fabric. You would also need to purchase your own batting. Quilt kits can be a busy quilter’s best shortcut.
